About Nina On the Mat:

Nina teaches beginner and intermediate level yoga and meditation classes and she invites all students to *start where you are*. Nina’s background as a structural engineer feeds her teaching of the body as an intelligent and fascinating structure. In buildings and in the natural world, it is with a strong foundation, through grounding, and in rooting, that structures become stable. Similarly, through yoga, we can cultivate strength and grounding so our bodies are more stable, mobile, and vibrant.

Nina’s inner journey of meditation, prayer, motherhood, and experience with contemplative dialogue influence her gentle, yet playful, style. She believes that yoga can bring awareness to tension patterns in our body that keep us from fully realizing a natural, and calm, state of being.  Inspired by a diverse array of contemplative practices, Nina offers mindfulness techniques, breath awareness practice and opportunities for stillness and brain rest in her classes.

Nina completed the Alignment Yoga (AY) 200-hour and 500-hr Yoga Teacher Training Programs with Scott Anderson and Andrea Russell in Madison, Wisconsin.  She is registered with Yoga Alliance.  Nina also studied Contemplative Dialogue with Beth O’Brien (Benedictine oblate and founder of www.ContemplativePresence.org).  As of 2018, Nina is the Leader for Yoga and Meditation at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey.

About Nina Off the Mat:

Nina is a licensed Professional Engineer and worked for several years analyzing structural and architectural failures.  Off her mat, she volunteers at her church, her kids’ schools, and plunges into community building and service projects when she can. She lives with her husband and children in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Together, they enjoy being outdoors, growing vegetables and butterflies, and finding new places to visit.
